snoopy
it’s nearing 8 on a thursday and i’m stuck in this hell hole to finish a 3d model rendering for a presentation tomorrow morning (for the mf-er who didn’t even bother to come into work today... another story for another time). and well, i’m starving. famished. really really hungry.
i was supposed to go home for lunch today and make some magic out of the randomness that is my pantry, but there was an huge accident on us1 right outside our entrance to the campus, and i wouldn’t have been able to get back to work (gee golly gosh darn). ok so bottom line, i didn’t have a lunch and my snack drawer is empty and i had to eat someone else’s leftover soup and i didn’t even want soup. lunch sucked.
so now it's dinner and there’s cheesy salsa in the frige leftover from the design discussion—fair game. now i eat a lot of cheese by itself, but there’s something gross about the soggy peppers suspended in imitation cheese that i just can’t bring myself to eat with a spoon. so i figure, there has to be someone around here with a fucking cracker!!
first drawer to inspect, sara’s. that woman’s always over here stealing my nuts! i didn’t mind for the first six months or so... but get your own! i’m half only child, i don’t share well. well what do i find!? nuts! smoked freakin almonds. she’s been over at my desk eating smoked almonds (including the last of the ones i had yesterday) since i started getting them in december! and what’s in her snack drawer, smoked almonds! eat your own nuts, bitch!
still on cracker hunt, i move to lorine’s office. she’s always munching on something... she has to have food laying around! nada. zip. strike two on the cracker front. alas, i get to alison’s desk and what do i see without even having to open a drawer!? a big green box of keebler clubs! she can spare a half dozen or so for a starving intern.
still curious to see if there’s anything else available on the snack front, i pull open the ghetto closet (ghetto because it’s “locked” but it’s a double door so if you pull the angle sets the lock free. i am bad people.) and what to my wondering eyes should appear (i don’t know if this makes any sense because it’s now after 11... and no i didn’t take three hours to write this. i simply got interrupted.) but vino and beer and soda, oh my! and not only soda, but a whole virgin case of diet dr. pepper. it’s mine now.
i call tonight’s acquisitions, aggravation tax.

i'm sitting here at work. it's late on a sunday, and i'm not even supposed to work sundays, but i'm making up time. you probably don't care 'cause you don't even know me, but somehow i ended up here and read this story and it made me smile and not hate being here as much for the however many seconds it was that i was reading it.
thanks :D
